Different light does wonders :D Comparing the two I can see that sandy-desert-like in the old one and much more stony-mountain-like feel and fabulous river colours in the new one.
Did you use a polarizer or was the sky really so intensely blue?

Yes, a polarizer in both cases. The older one was shot in July of last year with a Canon 20D. The new one was shot in March with the new 5d MII. The color of the sky was deep blue anyway, but notice the color of the river. In July it was nearly emerald green (really!), and in March it was a deep blue except down in the little lagoon off to the left, where it still has a greenish hue. This location has a personal significance to me for reasons I won't go into here. Glad you like the two of them! Thanks for the favs.

The colors in this are so wonderfully vibrant, and the way the blue and the green are wrapped up in the desert tones is perfect. Good stuff.
